White House History Live delves into the stories that make up the history of the Executive Mansion.

In the United States, women petitioned for the right to vote for 72 years before enactment of the 19th amendment on August 26, 1920. Senior Vice President and Director of the David M. Rubenstein Center for White House History Dr. Colleen Shogan and White House Historian Lina Mann will discuss pivotal moments in the history of the movement with a particular emphasis on the first protests waged at the gates of the White House.
