The peaceful transfer of presidential power represents the best of American democracy. It is an exciting and challenging period for the nation. The new president has just two months to plan a new administration and move the first family into the White House. After being sworn in as president, the pressures of a new job and settling into a new home and office begin. As the nation approaches the 59^thInaugural Ceremonies on January 20^th, 2021 the White House Historical Association will explore the history, significance, and customs of inaugurations past.
