Q: What if I wish to stay elsewhere in the city besides the Willard InterContinental?
A: There are several other hotels in Washington, D.C. where you may book your stay, however, the Willard InterContinental is the only hotel where the White House Historical Association can offer you discounted government and non-government rates. We recommend staying at the Willard as the majority of Summit sessions will take place at the Willard, and transportation to and from the offsite events has already been arranged for pick-up and drop-off at the hotel.
Q: Will there be parking at the Willard InterContinental?
A: The Willard InterContinental offers valet parking for all hotel guests 24 hours a day. Overnight valet parking includes unrestricted in and out privileges. Please check the Willard website for pricing.
Q: How do I check-in and check-out at the Willard InterContinental?
A: Please check the Willard's website for information about your hotel stay.
Q: Where do I sign in for the Summit at the Willard InterContinental?
WHHA will have a registration table located in the Ante Lobby, adjacent to the Willard Hotel Lobby. You can pick up your badge and other Summit materials when you check-in. The registration table will be open:

- Tuesday, August 28 7:30am-12:00pm
- Wednesday, August 29 7:30am-12:00pm
Q: How will I get to the offsite evening events?
A: Attendees will be transported to the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, the National Archives, the Library of Congress, the National Cathedral, and the White House Historical Association on complimentary coach busses. You are responsible for your own transportation to the Willard InterContinental and the White House. We recommend walking from the Willard to the White House. Please see this map.
Q: Can I bring a guest to any of the events?
A: All sessions, events, and excursions will be for registered attendees only.
Q: How can I register for the behind-the-scenes excursions? Is there an additional cost?
A: There is no additional cost for the behind-the-scenes excursions. You can sign up for the excursions when you register for the Summit. Please note that the behind-the-scenes excursions are on a first come, first served basis and we will not be able to accommodate everyone. The National Cathedral excursion has already filled up, however, you can still register for the Library of Congress excursion. If you have already registered for the Summit, but have not signed up for the excursions, please click here to edit your registration. You must sign up in advance for the behind-the-scenes excursions.
Q: What is the dress code for Summit activities?
A: Business casual for general and breakout sessions. Business attire is appropriate for the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts and the White House events. Please dress comfortably for the behind-the-scenes excursions. Washington, D.C. will be hot and humid this time of year and these excursions will require minimal amounts of walking outside.
Q: Can I show up to the Willard and register the day of the Summit?
Same-day registrations will not be accepted. You must have registered in advance and online to attend.
Q: What is the plan for inclement weather at the Lincoln Memorial?
A: The opening ceremony at the Lincoln Memorial will occur rain or shine. In the event of a thunder or lightning storm, representatives from the National Park Service will assist in leading attendees to a safe place until the weather improves.
Q: When will I receive more information about the White House events?
A: If you have registered on or before July 15, the White House will contact you directly with more information, as we get closer to the event. You will receive a full list of prohibited items and accepted forms of identification from the White House directly. If you have not registered by July 15, you will not be permitted to attend the White House events.
