Mary Latrobe's Tea Box
Dolley Madison gave this tea box, one of the few White House objects to survive the fire of 1814, to her friend, Mary Latrobe. It is lined with green, pink, and white wallpaper. The French wallpaper is a sample of the paper that covered the walls of a parlor in the Madison White House. Creator: Box from China, Wallpaper by Jacquemart et Benard, Paris, c.1809-1811.
