President Johnson with 4-H Representatives
In this photograph James D. Sillers, a 4-H club member, presents President Lyndon B. Johnson with a metal dinner bell topped with the signature 4-H Clover on October 5, 1965 in the Oval Office. The clover represents the four areas of member development: head, heart, hands, and health. The other 4-H club members present were Elizabeth Covington, Wayne Dabney, Billy Pat Porter, and Betsey Clarke. 4-H is a national youth development program with a special focus on agriculture, citizenship, healthy living, along with science, engineering, and technology.
