President Johnson with 4-H Representatives

In this photograph President Lyndon B. Johnson holds a metal dinner bell presented to him by members of the 4-H gathered in the Oval Office on October 5, 1965. The bell is topped with the signature 4-H Clover representing the four areas of member development: head, heart, hands, and health. James Sillers, a 4-H club member presented the bell to President Johnson. The other 4-H club members present were Elizabeth Covington, Wayne Dabney, Billy Pat Porter, and Betsey Clarke. 4-H is a national youth development program with a special focus on agriculture, citizenship, healthy living, along with science, engineering, and technology.
