Lincoln Sitting Room, John F. Kennedy Administration
This photograph of the Lincoln Sitting Room was taken by Robert L. Knudsen on February 23, 1962, during the John F. Kennedy administration. It shows the room before the minor alterations First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy made during her restoration project. Previously an office and later a telegraph room, this Second Floor room serves as a parlor corresponding to the adjacent Lincoln Bedroom. The Lincoln Sitting Room features furniture, artwork, and refurbishing reminiscent of the 1860s.
