National Christmas Tree Lighting 2018

This photograph is of United States Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke speaking at the 2018 National Christmas Tree lighting ceremony on November 28. The lighting of the National Christmas Tree is a cherished holiday tradition in Washington, D.C. When President Calvin Coolidge lit the first tree in 1923, the celebration attracted more than 6,000 spectators. Today, the opening ceremony and nightly holiday concerts continue to draw hundreds of attendees.
