President Harding's Voyage of Understanding, Metlakatla, Alaska, Side A

Bone of Alaska during Harding's "Voyage of Understanding." The Voyage of Understanding was the name given to Harding's tour of the western United States and Alaska. Harding was the first sitting president to visit Alaska. Here, Governor Bone is pictured seated on President Harding's right. The caption reads: "President and Mrs. Harding and Governor Bone of Alaska at Metlakatla."
