Microsoft Tent, 2019 Easter Egg Roll
In this photograph, taken by Matthew D'Agostino for the White House Historical Association, children play on Microsoft Surface computers during the White House Easter Egg Roll, held on the South Lawn on April 22, 2019. In a tent sponsored by the technology company Microsoft from Redmond, Washington, children could decorate virtual Easter eggs, program commands for a robot, and play games from Microsoft's Xbox One video game system. Other activities at the 2019 Easter Egg Roll included egg dying and cookie decorating stations, an egg hunt, hopscotch, and the signature Easter Egg Roll Race. First Lady Melania Trump hosted the event, which has been popular at the White House since President Rutherford B. Hayes first invited local children to play egg rolling games on the South Lawn in 1878.
