President Johnson Meets with Civil Rights Leaders

This photograph shows President Lyndon B. Johnson at a meeting with Civil Rights leaders in the Oval Office on October 5, 1965. From left to right are: Attorney General Nicholas deB. Katzenbach, Morris B. Abram, William T. Coleman, and President Johnson. The meeting established Abram and Coleman as co-chairs for the upcoming Civil Rights Conference held in Washington, D.C. from November 17 to 18, 1965.
