Join us in learning more about White House History right from your own home. Our Facebook Live series, White House History Live, delves into the stories that make up the history of the Executive Mansion.

Martha Washington’s worst memory was the death of her husband. Her second worst was Thomas Jefferson’s awkward visit to pay his respects afterwards. Indeed, by the time George Washington died in 1799, the two founders were estranged, but for most of their thirty-year acquaintance they enjoyed a productive relationship. Professor Frank Cogliano will discuss his new book, A Revolutionary Friendship: Washington, Jefferson and the American Republic, and how the relationship between the two Virginians shaped the American Revolution and its legacy.

This event will be live streamed on the White House Historical Association's Facebook and YouTube pages starting at 5:30 pm ET on June 25.
